Vizio TV app Freezes During Start-up (Does Not Open)

We are currently aware of ongoing issues affecting the KOCOWA app on Vizio TV devices, and our team is actively working on a fix.

We truly appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

In the meantime, as a workaround, please follow the guide below with alternative methods on logging in on your KOCOWA account and watching the shows on your Vizio TV:

How to Cast to Vizio TV

 Make Sure:

  • Your Vizio Smart TV is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your casting device.

  • Your TV supports AirPlay 2 and/or Chromecast (most Vizio SmartCast TVs do).

Using AirPlay (from Apple Devices)

iPhone / iPad

  1. Open the KOCOWA app.

  2. Tap the AirPlay icon (rectangle with a triangle at the bottom).

  3. Select your Vizio TV from the list.

  4. If prompted, enter the code shown on your TV screen.

Mac

  1. Click the AirPlay icon in the top menu bar.

  2. Select your Vizio TV.

  3. Choose if you want to mirror your display or use the TV as a separate display.

To enable AirPlay on your Vizio TV:
Go to Settings > AirPlay and turn it ON.

Using Chromecast (from Android or Chrome Browser)

Android Phone / Tablet

  1. Open the KOCOWA app.

  2. Tap the Cast icon (rectangle with Wi-Fi symbol).

  3. Choose your Vizio TV.

  4. Playback will start on the TV.

From Google Chrome (on a computer)

  1. Open Chrome and go to the content you want to cast.

  2. Click the three dots (⋮) in the upper right corner.

  3. Click Cast….

  4. Select your Vizio TV.

  5. Choose whether to cast the tab that is playing the KOCOWA content.

If you are having issues with the methods below, here are some troubleshooting tips:

  • Restart your TV and device.

  • Check both devices are on the same Wi-Fi.

  • Update the TV firmware and app software.

  • Clear cache or reinstall the casting app.
